  • FILL OUT THE “ON-LINE APPLICATION FORM”: After reading the instructions carefully, fill out the on-line application form and submit. In particular you should check up the ADMISSION CRITERIA for the course of your choice to ensure that you are eligible for the course. You should also note the IMPORTANT DATES in regard to the admission process. On submission of the on-line application, the system will generate a printable version of the filled out application form (pdf file, 1 page) and a printable bank challan (pdf file, 1 page) having 3 identical parts called `bank copy’, `college copy’ and `student copy’. Although you can retrieve these files later we recommend that you save both files.
  • PAY THE PROCESSING FEE: Take a print out of the bank challan, carry it to one of the “SPECIFIED BANK BRANCHES” and pay the processing fee of Rs.150/= (Rupees One Hundred and fifty only). The bank will write down a “Journal Number” on all three parts of the challan and return the ‘college copy’ and ‘student copy’ to you as a receipt against your payment. Make sure that it is stamped and signed by the bank with the journal number duly entered. Please retain this receipt until the end of the admission process.
  • CHECK YOUR “FEE STATUS”: The system will acknowledge the receipt of your payment. The “LIST OF APPLICANTS” whose payments have been recorded will be published on the college website. If your name does not show on this list, contact the college office on 21.06.2014 between 11:00 AM and 3:00 PM with the challan receipt in original and a photocopy of the same. CHECK THE “MERIT LIST” along with ‘Counselling Schedule’: The merit list will be published on the college website. Check the merit list to see whether you have qualified.
  • APPEAR FOR COUNSELING: If you have qualified in the merit list, present yourself at the college on the appropriate “DATE & TIME OF COUNSELING” for your chosen stream/subject with the following documents:
    • Hard Copy (printout) of the submitted application form, duly signed by you and your guardian.
    • Two stamp sized photographs, one pasted on the application form in the appropriate box provided there.
    • All Mark-sheets, Certificates, Age proof in original and photocopies attached with the printed application form.
    • Original documents in support of caste (for SC/ST/OBC candidates) or physical disability (for person with disability) etc along with photocopies.
    • The bank challan duly signed and stamped by the bank on receipt of your processing fee.
  • GET ENROLLED: If you get a chance in a course of your choice at the counseling session, get yourself enrolled by paying the “ADMISSION FEES”.
PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING BEFORE PROCEEDING TO APPLY
  • Not all courses/streams are on offer in all sections of the college. The on-line admission form has been designed to allow only those courses that are on offer for the concerned section (Morning/ Day/ Evening), stream (Arts/ Science/ Commerce) and category (Honours/ General).
  • The Morning Section is only for female students, the Evening Section is only for male students while the Day Section is for both.
  • You are not allowed to apply across sections, streams and Category in a single application.
  • For honours courses a single application allows you to apply for three distinctive honours subjects for the same stream and section. The same honours subject with different combination of general subjects cannot be applied for. However, if at the time of admission you ask for a combination of general subjects that you did not apply for, it may be considered.
  • For the general courses a merit lists will be prepared for B.A, B.Sc Pure-Science, B.Sc Bio-Science & B.Com and NOT for the different subject combinations separately. This means that in spite of qualifying in the merit list and qualifying for a seat in a particular stream after counselling, you may not qualify for the combination of subjects that you opted for.
  • If you have not studied and cleared a language, either at the HS/Equivalent (Class 12) level or at the Madhyamik/Equivalent (Class 10) level, then you are not eligible to choose that language as your compulsory additional language at Graduation Level.
  • If you have studied a subject at the HS/Equivalent level but were unable to clear it, you are not eligible to choose that subject for an UG degree course. However, if you have not studied the subject at the HS/Equivalent level at all, you may opt for the subject.
  • If you have passed the HS/Equivalent examination in a vocational stream, you are not eligible to apply for honours courses.
  • If you have cleared your HS/Equivalent examination prior to 2011, you need a special permission from the University of Calcutta to get enrolled for a degree course. You must obtain this permission before the date of counselling.
  • In preparing the merit list the college shall take into account the four highest scores (including Theory and Practical marks, where applicable) at the HS/Equivalent level excluding Environmental Studies. Equal weightage will be given to all subjects irrespective of the `full marks’ in the subject when calculating the percentage contribution of the subject. In addition to the above procedure there are subject specific constraints (usually some minimal marks that a candidate must secure in one or more subjects) that will taken into account when preparing the merit list. The details can be found in `Admission Criteria’ furnished in the website.
  • For candidates who have passed their HS/Equivalent examination prior to 2014, five percent (5%) marks will be deducted before they are considered for the merit list.
  • Only on-line applications for admission will be entertained.

  • Candidates from Reserved Categories are entitled to get benefits as per Govt. Rules
  • C.U. Norms for B.A. / B.Sc. / B.Com. Hons. for unreserved category : Aggregate 50%, Subject 45% OR Subject 55% OR Aggregate 50% for non-taught subject. Aggregate means – Aggregate of Best Four Subjects excluding Environmental Education/Studies.
